She has been able to stand up for the things that she believes in and become a voice for not only herself, but the Pacific Island community. "I hope to find more organizations to be involved in after I graduate so that I can be able to help educate others and spread awareness. I want to be able to represent the Pacific island community in a positive way and help change the negative stereotypes". - Demi Matty Mulitalo is also a senior at Granger. In addition to ITAT she is the secretary for the National Honors Society and a member of DECA. She has also participated in school sports such as volleyball, basketball, and earned a letter in golf! She plays the piano, double bass in her school's orchestra, and guitar. She loves art, cooking, and SLAM POETRY. Check out her performance at Granger's Hidden Talent Show this month, where she took 2nd place. Watch her performance below. "I've seen cop cars here and there. The rivals come to G-house and they're scared. They tremble in fear, they clutch their bags tighter. They think we're just fighters. Ya we fighters, but for our education, to rule the nation. We can be more than what we are now, but you as a Lancer need to figure out how. You gotta put in now for yourself, don't wait for anyone else, start now, forever stand your place. Go out now and be that student from Granger, your own life changer." -Excerpt from Matty's poem MARCH ACTIVITIES Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco held in March of each year. ITAT groups created videos to bring greater awareness about Big Tobacco issues. Check out our videos below!
