FUNDRAISING SUCCESS!

Larry is this year's Signature Artist for the Customs House Museum's annual major fundraiser. This year's event was held at the Regional Airport adjacent to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, August 21.  "Appalachian Morning" is Larry's interpretation of the magnificent massif straddling the Tennessee-North Carolina border where every spring the mountaintop is covered with blooming rhododendron. The Appalachian Trail traverses the 6,200 ft. peak. This donated artwork was auctioned to benefit the museum and brought $5,000. This year's theme was The Roaring Twenties, thus the outfit. Bowtie tied by the artist.

FLYFISHING FACELIFT

This rendition of an underwater scene featuring the Sockeye Salmon was done earlier as a simple painting on a cedar plank. The dog days of summer spurned an idea to upgrade the artwork by adding a burlap background and a barnwood frame with three flies adorning top and bottom. Voila! A new presentation is born. Alaskans have seen the largest run of these fish in years. Oil on cedar, $150.
