From Our President

Josh Hagley

Hello to all the members at Jerome Country Club. I hope your summer has been going well. This summer has been eventful for the club. It has been another season of great people and great events. There is plenty of summer left to get out and play!

I would like to give a tardy congratulations to our new board members, Jake Bunn and Rick Tegan. Jake and Rick will officially take their spots on the board at the November meeting. I would also like to thank the other candidates who ran. It was a close race with great candidates. Please consider running again next year if you did not get in.

The course is very difficult to maintain this time of year due to the extreme heat. Please be mindful of driving carts in soggy areas or over sprinkler heads. Our water is what allows us to have a green golf course in the middle of the desert. Please do your part to keep it that way.

The club is considering an upgrade to our practice facility with the funds raised by the Improvement Committee and their Summer Smash Event. We are specifically considering a new practice chipping green. The new chipping green will be much larger than our current chipping green. The new green will be located across the road, behind the driving range tee. It will have longer approaches and better bunkers. The new green will also limit some (but not all) risk of hitting cars. With that said, if you are hitting cars with chips, Troy and Jordan offer reasonably priced lessons. The ongoing efforts by the Improvement Committee are huge for course improvement. If anyone would like to lend a hand in their efforts, please contact Janet Cantor.

The club recently had the course videoed by a drone for marketing material. The drone video was professionally done and will give our members and guests a unique view of the course. There will be more exciting news to come regarding how we utilize the video.

That about wraps it for this month. Hope to see you all soon.

Cheers

From the Pro

The handicap committee will email friendly reminders for members to post all scores. They will be checking to see that players are posting scores.
