RĒHITA MAI - NCEA JUMBO DAY

ACCORD TEACHER ONLY DAYS

A Secondary Accord Sub-Group has been established to co-design and support the implementation of eight additional teacher only days allocated in an Accord between the Ministry of Education, NZEI Te Riu Roa and PPTA Te Wehengarua.

These days are set aside to support the implementation of changes to NCEA, and wider strengthening of curriculum, progress and achievement practice.

NKAI Kura can:

Attend the NKAI NCEA Jumbo Day on 30 October 2020 and not add a day to the end of the year. However, this will mean that they will have one less NCEA review day in 2022.

NKAI Kura can still have the NCEA review day in November 2020 as set out for their region by MOE and they do not need to add another day to the end of the year.

NKAI will look to have a NKAI Jumbo Day in 2021 and 2022.  This will be one of the 4 NCEA review days scheduled for schools across New Zealand to use in 2021 and one of the three days allocated by MOE for this purpose in 2022.

Oranga Tumuaki, Oranga Kura

26 NOVEMBER 2020 - REGISTRATIONS OPEN TODAY

This year the Oranga Tumuaki, Oranga Kura wānanga is open to all Tumuaki and their senior leadership team. This one-day wānanga will be held at Distinction Rotorua on Thursday 26 November 2020.

Following a survey sent out earlier in the year, NKAI has designed a unique program of keynote speakers and workshops to address the many issues raised in the survey. We have a range of experts from within and outside of our organisation who will share their experiences, expertise, strategies and advice to support your growth and development no matter where an individual may be in their career. We also have workshops that may benefit attendees personally such as financial planning for the future and balancing life and workload.

*School office administrators can register kaiako as a group if required.

REMINDER: The Ngā Kura ā Iwi Annual General Meeting will be held on the following day, 27 November 2020 at the same venue - Distinction Rotorua.
