The world is opening back up and we are excited! It has truly been a long year for all of us. As we reflect on 2020, we are now more mindful than ever of our ongoing responsibility to care for one another and to ensure the health and safety of those around us. As we return back to some sense of normalcy, we here at the BarbaraCares Foundation make the promise to continue in our efforts to ensure we are protecting the most vulnerable and at-risk by adhering to CDC guidelines for any events we host in the future; while also               following additional measures to keep us safe. We understand                that together, we can turn the page of this pandemic. As we mark  midyear, we look forward to seeing you all in person very soon!

Impact Begins With You...

We weren't sure how we could OR if we should! But we knew the mission was far too important to put it off another year. Thank you everyone that participated in our first ever "Socially Distant" March for Mammograms event. This annual walk is a critical fundraiser solely to raise dollars to provide mammography screenings for both uninsured and at-risk women across the metroplex. Funds that are raised, allows BarbaraCares the ability to directly give access to health care for residents across DFW. The walk looked different this year due to enhanced CDC protocols and limited crowd sizes BUT the impact achieved more than doubled because of the generosity and support from each of you! Thank you everyone that purchased a ticket, sponsored a mammogram or shared a post! Special thanks to Fort Worth's Mayor, Betsy Price for delivering opening remarks and walking 3 miles in solidarity for breast cancer awareness. The BarbaraCares Foundation just last month gave $4,315.00 to fund free mammogram screenings here in Texas. Our focus this year is preventative action and early detection to address rising late-stage breast cancer diagnoses and mortality rates.

It goes without saying, our volunteers are the lifeblood of BarbaraCares. Without the heart of those that generously give their time, resources and creativity to our organization we would not be able to serve the community effectively or efficiently.  

This quarter, we want to especially honor and recognize one person that truly inspires us all! Our Volunteer of the Quarter is Miss. Zoe - our youngest volunteer here at the BarbaraCares Foundation. On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you Zoe for always being a part of our outreach efforts and for always thinking of ways to help others! We salute you!

Become a Giving Hero to help local breast cancer patients and caregivers with supportive services. Donations this year will once again be matched up to $1,000.00 which allows funds to be doubled for more community impact! In memory of Barbara, donations of $60.00 or more are eligible for entry into a drawing to receive a pink Coach purse in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October as a special gift for you!

Our theme this year at BarbaraCares is Preventative Action. Breast Cancer Awareness has to be more than an October highlight. DFW is currently ranked 3rd highest in the nation with late-stage breast cancer diagnoses and mortality rates. These numbers can change with an intense effort to educate, screen and target those most at risk.

 Mammograms Matter! Early detection saves lives! Here at BarbaraCares, we advocate 365 with the sole purpose to save lives here in Texas! Will you join our efforts and make the commitment for you and your family to get screened? Your health cannot wait! We are counting on you...
