When you have an idea, it's like the universe handed you a key to a secret door. Behind that door is a world of potential, and it's waiting for you to explore it.
An idea can make you feel excited, hopeful, and creative. It's the seed of something new, and it has the power to change your life.
You can help your children experience moments like this for themselves:
- Encourage them to ask questions
- Listen to them
- Help them explore their interests
- Teach them about the world around them
- Encourage them to be creative
- Help them take action on their ideas
- Teach them to never give up on their dreams
If you want your kids to be successful, help them develop their ideas. Then, with your support, they can turn their ideas into reality.
I want to emphasize the power of your support. I believe that all children can do incredible things. I do not think parents or supporting adults should conclude that a child is simply "unmotivated," "unskilled," or not bright enough to accomplish big things. You have a responsibility to foster an environment where your child can succeed no matter who they are. I understand that this is different from the typical mentality, where we all agree that everyone is responsible for themselves. I agree with that statement, but when it comes to children, we are responsible for setting them up for success. I also recognize the role of the people around us and the debt that every successful person owes to family, community, and society.
I challenge you to think about your role in your child's life. How can you help them develop their ideas or dreams and turn them into reality?
