Happy New Year to all our LBCC members and friends.  We wish you the best for 2019 and hope you will continue the wonderful support and interest in LBCC during the upcoming year.  Our resolution for the New Year is the same as it has been since 2006,To maintain and improve the effectiveness of Lake Buchanan as a recreational area for all who wish to use it.  Please join us in making this resolution continue to come true.

We celebrated Christmas early on December 1st with a member only dinner and social.  The food, catered by “Mama’s Home Cooking” in Burnet, seemed to exceed the expectations of those attending.  While it was a great time for merriment, we learned two of our board members, Annette Gardner, treasurer, and Larry Sansom, membership chairman, announced their retirement from the board.  If this wasn’t bad enough, Ron Abshier announced his desire to not seek re-election as president of LBCC.  Ron indicated he will continue to serve as president until a replacement can be found and wants to stay on the board thereafter.

We want to extend a big thank you to Annette and Larry for the work they have done for LBCC over the past years.  They have helped tremendously.  They will be missed.

At the same time we are fortunate to have two members who have indicated a willingness to fill the void left by Annette and Larry.  We are pleased John Chalmers will become our treasurer and Steve McCarty will join the Board as membership chairman. Thanks guys for helping us out!

LBCC is still faced with a need of members willing to step-up and lend an active hand in our future endeavors.  Please let us know if you are willing to become more actively involved, and perhaps join in the leadership by serving as a Board member.

BRING A FRIEND!

We have several projects in the workS which may require some assistance.  Please NOTE the following and participate as you can.

We have donated a portable dock to the HARTH (Healing and Recovery thru Horses) Foundation and are making plans for the delivery and installation of the dock on their property on the northeast (Burnet) side of the lake.  If you are able to give us a hand once we get our plans finalized, please let Ron know.

We continue to plan with Texas Parks & Wildlife for the placement of fish attractors in Inks Lake.  We have had the attractors for some time now and are trying to coordinate with TP&W for a good date to place the attractors in the lake.  Hopefully that will be arranged soon and we will need some man and/or woman power, and maybe a boat or two, to get the attractors delivered to their final resting place.  If you can help, let us know and we will contact you when details are finalized.

We receive support from the Central Texas Water Coalition and we support their goals.  If you are not familiar with their organization please visit their web site.  They are currently registering players for their upcoming fundraising golf tournament.  Golfers, please click here for more details. http://centraltexaswatercoalition.org/events-activities-2/

Membership Update

Past members continue to send in their membership dues donation for 2019.  We are receiving new membership donations as well.  Thank you TO those that have contributed so far.  We began our annual membership drive in October last year and it will continue until all of you have sent in your contribution or until September 30, 2019, whichever comes first.  Just like PBS, A fund drive that never ends!  Seriously, please consider the small donation of $25 so you can call yourself a member of LBCC.  It will make us all feel good and help LBCC meet its mission.

If you have not yet joined LBCC or renewed your membership for 2019 please do so now. Click to join or renew on-line
