Pathways Retreat March Rhythms website Prayer is the deliberate and persevering action of the soul. It is true and enduring, and full of grace. Prayer fastens the soul to God and makes it one with God's will. Julian of Norwich Grace Flowing Listening with Julian of Norwich, Pathways Lenten Mystic God of your goodness, give me yourself, for you are enough for me… If I were to ask anything less, I should always be in want, for in you alone, do I have all. Take a moment to listen to the goodness in your life… I know that at times I will be troubled; I know that at times I will be belabored, I know that at times I will be disquieted, but I believe that I will not be overcome. Young People Retreat at Pathways Pastor Jessica King (front right in photo) from Faith Lutheran Church, Goshen, believes that ministry is all about relationships: building, forming, and tending relationships with one another, as a community of faith, and with God. One way this happens is through their “Be U” group for high school girls. Jessica says, “I wanted to offer them space at this stage of their lives to learn tools and resources to help them walk with confidence through life – the messiness and joyful moments—to gift them with a variety of ways to know and experience that they are loved and beloved.” The B U group meets weekly and comes to Pathways Retreat once a month for an hour or so. Jessica says that Pathways offers the girls a space to step away from the norm of their everyday lives to reflect and connect, with themselves, each other and God. This month the girls came away to LISTEN. Each girl was instructed to write the word LISTEN on a piece of paper and then to draw, write or doodle as these invitations were read: Listen to the sounds of this place… Listen to your breath… Listen to your beating heart… Listen to the energy in you… Listen to the sounds of your day… Listen to how you feel… Listen to what frightens you… Listen to what fills you with courage… Listen to what you would tell a trusted friend… Listen to those in your life who love you… Listen to the heart of God telling you how beautiful and beloved you are… After a quiet time of listening to their own lives, the girls listened to each other as they shared their artwork and thoughts. These were some of their responses to what they were taking with them from this time: Relax; I am loved; Courage; I can be comfortable in the chaos; I am not alone. bird Walk Series Sundays, March 18, April 8 & 15 4:00pm "Annie's bird walks are fabulous!" raves one of the participants from a previous Pathways Retreat bird walk. Wounded Lovers Men's Retreat April 24, 8:30-4:00 We’re created to be good lovers—to love and be loved with sexual intimacy. But most men are wounded lovers. We suffer brokenness in our sexual lives, leaving us to struggle with shame and some form of impairment or compulsion. In this retreat for men, we will reclaim God’s gift of sexuality, address our shadow and embrace who we are as spiritual and sexual men who long for loving union with others in life.
