From Our President

Josh Hagley

The club has been humming along all summer, but not without its hiccups. The club’s backhoe burnt up and was a complete loss. We where able to replace it with insurance money and funds appropriated for capital expenditures. We have significantly upgraded our equipment with this and other purchases throughout year. We are approaching the end of summer and primetime golf. Be sure to get out and enjoy the excellent conditions.

A certain member has complained about the tree left of the men’s tee boxes on #15. That member will go unmentioned, but his name rhymes with Grey Bagley. Apparently, the tree impeded a shot on the hole during the club championship. The board has investigated trimming the tree to increase the window for these types of shots. After some investigating, eye witness accounts report the shot in question did not hit the branches, it hit the stump! So, the board has decided not to trim tree. Sorry Dad, but, being related to a board member gets you no special privileges. Please have some peace of mind in the fact that before the complaint, the board decided to narrow the tee box so “slicers” have a better chance.

The club is doing some work on the hood vent in the kitchen. The grill will still be operational while we are doing the maintenance. We have also replaced some umbrellas outside. Now is the time to go enjoy the patio. The Caddyshack has made a move to switch from Pepsi products to Coke products. This seems to be a good move for the Caddyshack and the club. We look forward to the new partnership the other improvements to the restaurant. Please come down for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

We are still developing our digital tee sheet to make online booking more compatible. The process has taken a bit longer than expected but we are receiving the services at a substantial discount. The software developer is working hard to make sure that we can implement the service to the club this fall.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this newsletter. The club lost a dear friend and family member, Casey Lytle. Casey brought a lot of joy to our club and I will always remember him for that. It is tough for me to fully express what he meant to me and to many people in the club. All I can simply say is, I am going to miss you bud! Save a tee time for the next time we meet!

Cheers

From the Pro
