First, Thank You to Superintendent Bart Brandell and the entire Golf Course Maintenance Staff. The Golf course is in Super Condition.

We have just completed two of our major golf events. The Mens Member / Guest was a Full field of 192 Players and a great time for everyone. The Tournament Committee does a great job with this event. A special Thank You to the Tournament Committee: Dave King, Bill Hall, Chuck Marshall, Janet Cantor, Marta Lemoyne, Sherry Marona, and John Bonk. And the Jerome Country Club Summer Smash. The event was a huge success. Thank You to Janet Cantor for all of their work, and the efforts of the golf course improvement committee, Thanks to all of the Teams. The Teams played the Two Net Best Balls format, enjoyed Joe Cannon and a great meal. All to raise funds for the Club improvement Committee.

Tournament Prizes (Credit in the Golfshop) Expire Nov. 15th, 2018. Please spend your tournament winnings by Nov. 15th in the season that you win the credit. The Golfshop is very well stocked and many items from most golf equipment companies may be special ordered.

I would like to say thank you to all of the parents and grandparents assisting with the Junior Golf Program this season. The assistance has made the program a success. We have continued to grow in numbers and enthusiasm. We realize that making room for these young golfers (there are over 50 juniors in the program) is not always convenient for everyone. It is however crucial to the continued success of the club and a great opportunity for these young people. Thank You JCC.

The JCC Event schedule remains full for the remainder of summer. The July Tournament schedule includes the The Fourth of July Flag Tournament –- The Senior Club Championship on the 7th and 8th - PGA Pro Am July 9th - – Chamber of Commerce Scramble on the 14th – The Jerome Two Man Best Ball on the 21st and 22nd –. Fund raising for this tournament and our women’s invitational is a joint venture. It is this spirit of cooperation between our men’s and women’s associations that make these events so successful.

Golf Improvement Fund

The 2018 Summer Smash was a blast.  Twenty golf teams participated and 25 more people came to dinner and the Joe Cannon show.  Our profits go to the golf improvement fund for the country club. Previous course improvement money paid for the patio, new history wall, and bulletin boards.  The course improvement money is over and above the JCC country club budget.  Our wish list includes.

  1. Replant trees from tree nursery area to the course.
  2. Redo irrigation system to allow for raised target areas on driving range
  3. Hire a designer to make a future plan to improve practice area and driving range.
  4. Make a new chipping area by the driving range to accommodate several players.

The tournament made $7600 this year. A big thank you to Pete Cantor who paid for the entertainment, Judy Bay who organized and ran the silent auction, Kay and Steve Feldtman who manned the registration desk, Caddy Shack who served a delicious tri- trip dinner and donated brownies and linen, Troy Vitek and crew who ran the tournament, Connor and Jordan who hit drives allowing some golfers to score 3 on hole 8!!!, generous donors to the silent auction, and everyone who participated.

If you couldn’t attend, donations are always welcome.
