October Calendar of Events

Tuesday, 1st  - Men's Day Championship Final Day  Results
Saturday, 5th - ICGA Meeting and Golf

From Our President

Pete Cantor

The first day of Fall came and September is over! Several projects have been completed.  To name a few: bunker work, solar tube lights in bathroom on hole 14, donated statue “Fore the Love of the Game” is in place the patio.  Our big project for the coming year will be replacing the bathroom on hole 5.  We have an anonymous donor who offered ten thousand dollars toward the cost of the project.  Leonard Bay is working on an estimate for the project.  Let the board know if you would like to help in this major project.

We have a new piece of equipment that should make Fall play more enjoyable.  Not only will the blower help with the Autumn leaves, it will help remove debris off the greens after a wind storm, and tidy the course up after mowing.

The sand storage bin will be completed this Fall.  Bart is preparing the area for Cooper Construction to do the work.  This will save the club money by keeping the sand clean and uncontaminated. This project is funded by the Course Improvement donated funds.

Troy and the golf committee are working hard at finalizing the 2020 tournament schedule. The Leap year calendar is causing some changes in dates.

Welcome the new members:

As many of you know, assistant golf professional Conner Lee is pursuing his membership in the PGA of America. This process usually takes three to five years to complete. There are three separate series of tests in the PGA-PGM program that require that Conner will spend a week in classes in Florida on three separate occasions, return to complete work requirements and finally pass a series of tests after each level. The golfshop held a raffle for a Mizuno Driver (Conner is a Mizuno Staff Member) in order to raise funds to offset the cost of this first Education trip to Florida. Thank you to all of you who supported the fundraiser. We reached the goal and Conner will attend Oct 28-Nov 1.

Please Remember to Spend your Tournament Credit in the golfshop. There is still a good selection of golf merchandise specials, stop in to see us.

Dear Jerome Country Club Members,
First of all, I’d like to say thank you. As many of you have known or maybe have just learned I have taken the next step in continuing my pursuit to be a PGA Golf Professional. To help offset the costs of my schooling this fall we held a fundraiser raffle, it is an odd feeling having your name up on a board asking for help. The amount of support I received though was overwhelming, and we met our goal quicker than I could have ever imagined. While I tried to thank each person individually, I want to say a big thank you again for everybody reaching out and helping me pursue my goal of becoming a Class “A” PGA Professional. I am very grateful for the help you guys have provided me and am very happy to be a part of the team here as your Assistant Pro.

Thank you all very much,
Conner Lee
