It appears that we might enjoy a rather early beginning to our golf season at JCC. The Golf Course has found itself clear of snow to begin February, and we are enjoying some golfable days.
March 1st is the beginning of the score posting season for handicaps on golf courses in the Idaho Golf Association. Be sure to send in your Mens and Womens Association forms and payments (Included in the Jerome CC Statements of annual dues).
Mens and Womens Association fees are to be paid separate from Country Club Dues and directly to the Mens or Womens Associations at PO Box 452.
The Limited Reciprocal agreement with Clear Lakes Country Club has been a great benefit to both JCC and CLCC Members . We are currently working out the 2020 Agreement. Watch in future newsletters for the details and dates of Reciprocal rounds with Clear Lake.
Thanks to the efforts of the golf committee, the tournament schedule is in place. It is very similar to recent years and will be updated when necessary on the club website. The entire schedule is posted at jeromecountryclub.com.
The Online method of Scheduling Tee Times is Available to members at the Club Website jeromecountryclub.com. Simply Click on the Book Tee Time Button and choose a Date and Time that is available.
We will use reservations for tee times beginning February 15th . It is our intent to accommodate as many members as possible with tee times. Members are able to make reservations 7 days in advance, others are allowed to reserve times 3 days in advance. Please provide us with the number of players in your group (and names when possible). This will allow us to pair and fill out as many groups into foursomes as possible.
The golf course may be closed on some winter days when the conditions are such that play or golf cart use will cause excessive damage. The Grounds crew will determine if those conditions exist and we will note that the course is closed with signs on the first and tenth tees.
Winter can be very destructive to the golf course turf. When the course does begin to thaw, please Keep in mind the care and protection of our precious “green” grass. During these wintery rounds, please take particular care when you play as the turf begins to thaw. Try to avoid the wet or soft areas with golf carts, and repair ball marks and divots whenever it is possible.
