Tom's Pantry for the week of July 27th 2020.

Baking and delivering this week!

Hello Folks.

I assembled a baking schedule on my website: http://www.tomspantry.ca/.

I will bake this Wednesday July 29th for pick up at my home on Wednesday evening.

I will attend the Parkdale Farmers Market in Ottawa this Thursday July 30th from 9am to 3pm, or until I sell out. The market is now open for pre-orders and for public browsing.

I will deliver to homes on my trip on Thursday to Ottawa. I will deliver in the early morning in Crysler, Limoges, and the east part of Ottawa while going into town. At the end of the day, I will deliver in Ottawa and points on my way home: Metcalfe, Russell, Embrun, Winchester, Inkerman, Chesterville.

I need your order please by Tuesday evening 8pm in order to prepare enough levain overnight. See the product descriptions and ordering considerations here. And then, view the price list and order online with Local Line

Next week, Saturday August 8th, I will be at the Vankleek Hill Farmers Market and I will perform home deliveries on that route and towards Cornwall.

There is a minimum order of two loaves for a home delivery on a scheduled route.

Take advantage of my organic flours and baking ingredients, also available in the virtual store.

The monthly product rotation

On last count, I have over 25 different bread products, plus the nut-butter tarts. I cannot possibly make them all every week, or display them all on the table at the farmers' market.

About half of the products are most popular and are available by online order every week. Even in this group, I do not bring them all to the farmers' market every week. So, if you want something specific, even in the core group of products, please order ahead to be certain to have it.

The other products are split into two groups that rotate from month to month. This week is the last chance to get the July features: pita, bagel, white bread, multigrain, dates and walnuts, Ezekiel, chocolate and orange, raisins and almonds. They will all be back in September.

The August features include, ciabatta, baguette, white with Beau's Full Time IPA, pumpernickel, cheddar cheese, chocolate and cranberries.

Read more about the monthly rotation here.

Let's go dancing...!

With the move to stage 3 of the COVID-19 protocols last week, ballroom dancing has resumed at the Chesterville community center every second Saturday evening. Dance studios in Ottawa are slowly re-opening, although with a format that is very different from the pre-COVID period. Let's cross our fingers that we can resume dance lessons in September.

Check in regularly for news on dance events and dance lessons in the fall at Ballroom for Fun.

60 years already

We are four golf buddies celebrating 60 years of age this summer. We made it a golf weekend adventure to Bromont QC. We stayed at the lovely Auberge Le Madrigal. Bromont is an outdoor paradise with many excellent golf options, great cycling and hiking adventures, lovely scenery, and awesome restaurants to choose from.

During recent local travels in Ontario and Quebec, I observe that everyone is following COVID-19 protocols: face masks indoors for visitors, face masks always for service staff, proper distancing in restaurants and patios. Even the golf carts often have a plastic divider to separate the two riders.
