From Our President

Pete Cantor

Another newsletter! But wait, you all know the news.  The good news is that the Jerome Country Club is in good shape financially and course is recovering.  As of April 24th the course pro shop is open.  Green fees are being collected and carts are being rented.  Many non members are paying for their green fees when playing during our closure.
As of April 26th the Caddy Shack is open for take out only.  Please practice social distance and if you are sick stay home.

The driving range and practice areas are open.  Bart and his crew have made an elevated target area at 150 yards.  This improvement should help your practice sessions.
Aeration will take place in early May and Bart has bought many course accessories to be put out soon.  The tree roots on hole 4 have been covered with dirt and will be sodded.

Many of our tournament, club activities, and events have been cancelled or postponed.
I would like to personally thank every member for doing their own part in this difficult time.  All we can do is do our best and follow the Idaho Rebound Plan our governor put forth.  “We’re all in this pandemic together.”

It is time for another board election. Information will be mailed out soon to each member.  Please vote and send in your self stamped and addressed postcard.

Welcome to Vincent and Fay Williams our new members.  There are seven people on the list to buy a membership.  At this moment we have 411 members.

From the Pro

I hope that May 1, 2020 finds you and your family healthy.

May is usually a very busy month of golf events at the Jerome Country Club. The Covid 19 situation has caused the postponement of organized golf events at JCC. However, The Golf Course is open to both members and guests. Tee Times may be scheduled by phoning the golf shop or online at the JCC website. Updates to any policy regarding the Corona Virus will be distributed by email or at Jeromecountryclub.com as well as in the golfshop and Caddyshack.

The grounds crew will be top dressing the greens, May 4-5th. Keep in mind that this type of maintenance is part of the reason that our putting surface is excellent. Thank You to Bart Brandell and the Crew.

The JCC Board has extended the purchase of 10 Round Punch Cards thru May for 2020. Each membership may purchase one punch card at $225. (Non Members may Purchase for $290)

The 2020 Junior Golf Program is scheduled to begin June 18th. The Junior golfers will meet for instruction and to play golf on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings in June. The schedule will be available and signups will begin May 12th.

We will continue to update the membership on all of the events effected by the Covid 19 situation thru the website and emails.

Organized play for the Women’s Association is delayed until the clubhouse is completely open.

The friday night chapmans will start as soon as the restaurant is allowed. We will send an email as soon as we get the ok from the restaurant, the board of directors, the governor and the president.
