The Jerome Country Club board election results are tallied. Time to let you know that Rocky Hagan and Dewey Moss are your new board members. They will start their three year position at the annual meeting in December. Until that time they may attend board meetings. They are both good men and will add to the board positively.

The 2019 summer smash was a success and Janet Cantor did a great job as tournament chairmen. We raised close to $8000 to use for course improvement. We plan to build a much need sand storage area.

The Men’s Member guest tournament was also a huge success. The club business is all doing great. The course is in wonderful shape. Bart and his crew always do a fantastic job.

The new practice area is shaping up nicely and being used more every day. Please remember to use the available balls on the practice green. When using the driving range help us with maintenance by returning your baskets and filling divots.

For those of you who use the family tees, we hope you like the new orange markers. Hopefully it helps make it easier to find the family tee box.

Well, Summer has finally arrived. We are thankful for it.

We have just completed two of our major golf events. The Mens Member / Guest was a Full field of 192 Players and a great time for everyone. The Tournament Committee does a great job with this event. A special Thank You to the Tournament Committee: Dave King, Bill Hall, Chuck Marshall, Janet Cantor, Marta Lemoyne, Sherry Marona, Bruce Harmon and John Bonk.

And the Jerome Country Club Summer Smash. The Event was a huge success. Thank You to Janet Cantor for all of her preparations for the tournament, and the efforts of the golf course improvement committee. Thanks to all of the participants. The Teams played the Two Net Best Balls format, enjoyed Joe Cannon and a great meal. All to raise funds for the Club improvement Committee.

FYI: The proceeds of the 2018 Event funded the building of a new practice Green located at the Practice Range. I cannot wait to see what is accomplished with this years funds.

Tournament Prizes (Credit in the Golfshop) Expire Nov 15th 2019. Please spend your tournament winnings by Nov. 15th in the season that you win the credit. The Golfshop is very well stocked and many items from most golf equipment companies may be special ordered.

I would like to say thank you to all of the parents and grandparents assisting with the Junior Golf Program this season. The assistance has made the program a success. We have continued to grow in numbers and enthusiasm. We realize that making room for these young golfers (there are over 50 juniors in the program) is not always convenient for everyone. It is however crucial to the continued success of the club and a great opportunity for these young people. Thank You JCC.


The JCC Event schedule remains full for the remainder of summer. The July Tournament schedule includes:

  • The Fourth of July Flag Tournament
  • The Senior Club Championship on the 6th and 7th
  • Chamber of Commerce Scramble on the 13th
  • The Jerome Two Man Best Ball on the 20th and 21st
  • The Couples Invitational is Set for July 27th and 28th
  • The Taylor Sellers Memorial July 29th


Finally:

Thank You to Superintendent Bart Brandell and the entire Golf Course Maintenance Staff. The Golf course is in Super Condition.

Ladies Association

Happy 4th of July from JCC Women’s Association. Thanks to all the volunteers that help with the Putting contest, being spotters on Holes 5 and 12 and working the Hole 12. It’s always fun to help with the Men’s Member/Guest.

June brought some better weather and I think everyone was ready to Play golf. Congratulations to the Golfers of the Month,

July will be filled with tournaments starting with Golfer of the Month on Wednesday July 3rd, the Sr. Club Championship on July 6th and 7th. Entries are being taken at the pro shop now. Magic Valley Amateur is being held at the Gooding Country Club July 24th and 25th.

Don’t forget that we will be having a business meeting on July 3rd at 8:30am then play golf. Good luck to all who play.

SUMMER SMASH NEWS

The 2019 Summer Smash was a huge success.  We were able to deposit close to $7800.00 into the course improvement fund.  Thanks you to all who participated, donated, and worked the event.  It certainly is a team effort to make a successful event.

Janet Cantor is retiring from her position of Summer Smash tournament chairman.  If you would like to continue this event, please contact Janet or the board of directors.
