PVSD BOOKFAIR POPUP AT CMS

We will have a guest author, Dan Gemeinhart, coming to read to Grades 6-8th in the MUR Tuesday at 9:50. Dan has a great message about perseverance, bullying, and kindness. He shares an incident from his middle school years about bullying, which many schools he has read at have found to be extremely powerful.

Also, Mon 9/25- Thurs 9/28 during lunch time there will be a mini book fair set up at Corte Madera located in Lab 102 with the amazing student council at the helm. Make sure to have your kids bring money to school for new titles, classics, and more!

MAKE A DIFFERENCE HELPING ENGLISH LEARNERS IN REDWOOD CITY SCHOOLS

Los Ayudantes, an award-winning, literacy non-profit in Redwood City, has an immediate need for classroom volunteers!  No special training or language skills are needed to be a volunteer.  The only requirement is the desire to make a difference.  Los Ayudantes (translated..."The Helpers) is passionate about helping English learners reach grade level proficiency so they can be successful in high school and beyond.

At McKinley Institute of Technology middle school, volunteers can come for the one-hour literacy classes from 10:12-11:07 on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday.   Volunteers will be working one-on-one or with small groups of students on reading comprehension.  To learn more, contact Jenni Farrell at [email protected].
