First off, forecasts last week were way off with the "dusting of snow" prediction. This hit of powder started Thursday and just doesn't want to stop! There is no lack of powder on the mountain right now...we've even been getting reports that there's TOO MUCH snow now. Pictures and videos we've seen from guests range from coming just over the hood to being in over your head when jumping off your sled. This storm is suppose to wrap up by Monday morning and then it'll be bluebird days Tuesday through Friday with our next forecasted storm coming next Saturday. Forecast for Medicine Bow Peak at 12,000' Next 3 days: A moderate fall of snow, heaviest on Sun morning. Total 3 day accumulation estimate of 7-14" inches. Cold (max 3°F on Tue afternoon, min -9°F on Mon afternoon). Mainly near gales. 3-6 Days: A dusting of new snow. Temperatures will be well below freezing (max 21°F on Fri morning, min 3°F on Wed morning). Winds increasing (moderate winds from the W on Thu morning, gales from the WSW by Fri night). 6-9 Days: A moderate fall of snow, heaviest on Sat morning. Total 3 day accumulation estimate of 5-10" inches. Temperatures will be well below freezing (max 21°F on Sun night, min 3°F on Sat morning). Winds decreasing (gales from the WNW on Sat afternoon, light winds from the WNW by Mon night). 10-12 Days: Mostly dry. Temperatures will be well below freezing (max 16°F on Fri morning, min 1°F on Tue morning). Winds increasing (light winds from the W on Tue afternoon, fresh winds from the W by Wed night).
