Meet Ed Scott, the orienteering expert for Rock Hollow Woods.

Thank you, Ed for our new orienteering map! Ed has been diligently working on mapping Rock Hollow Woods' property and his perseverance has paid off. Rock Hollow Woods now has an official Delaware Valley Orienteering Association map. The program possibilities this map will give Rock Hollow Woods are endless! We look forward to being able to run workshops and teach children the skills needed to be an orienteer. Ed, the gift of your time and talent will be appreciated forever!

Ed’s background includes teaching 7th grade science for 25 years and organizing a Scout Orienteering day at French Creek for the past 30 years. ( http://www.scoutorienteering.com/ ) He’s done many outdoor programs at various Berks County parks, French Creek, Hawk Mountain Scout Camp, and indoor instructional programs for Boy Scouts and scout leaders. He also participates in the Twin Valley’s “Environmental Outdoors Day” at French Creek. Ed’s grandson has attended programs at Rock Hollow Woods and he recommends them to anyone.

Enrollment is still open for our Nature Pre-K Program for the Fall of 2020, so reserve your spot today!

Nestled among 77 acres of Rock Hollow Woods, our Nature Pre-K Program immerses children in the outdoors. Through hands-on discovery and inquiry-based learning, children will explore, discover, and grow with all that nature has to offer. We believe that play is an essential method of learning and are inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach*. Children will be exposed to a wide variety of educational opportunities that encourage self-expression, communication, logical thinking, and problem-solving, all while preparing them for the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical challenges of kindergarten.

Our Nature Pre-K Program is appropriate for children ages 4 to 5 (Pre-K.) It will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30, running from September 2020 through May 2021.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this with a friend!
