Join us on Saturday, March 9th from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. for one of the most popular seasonal programs that we offer - Animal Extravaganza!

Each year the presenter from Eyes of the Wild brings different animals and his energetic and humorous personality is always a hit. Providing an up-close, intimate, and fun experience such as this creates lasting memories and helps foster future advocates for wildlife!

This program is offered to both adults and children (7 & older). Space is limited, so sign up today!

Rock Hollow Woods and Fit4Mom Reading are partnering to bring you Fitness in the Forest on Saturday, April 13th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

We invite your entire family to join us for a workout at Rock Hollow Woods Environmental Learning Center, followed by a hike and outdoor learning activities. Fit4Mom Reading will lead the workout in a stroller-friendly area so that you can safely strap in your littles. Those little bodies can then break free of the strollers as Rock Hollow Woods staff runs a fun nature play-based activity when the workout is finished.

This is a great opportunity to learn about the ways in which both Fit4Mom Reading and Rock Hollow Woods Environmental Learning Center serve our local community - through physical activity, education, and overall health and wellness.

After 3 years of helping to bring magic to Rock Hollow Woods, we say goodbye to our friend, Amy Langman.

As I lay here, listening to the snowy silence outside, I think of how much of a pleasure it has been to meet so many amazing children and adults. Little and big faces just waiting to learn and play. Some ready to explore. Some ready to get dirty. Some who are hesitant and apprehensive about what lies ahead. Some just quietly soaking in the environment around them. Some knowledgeable and helping others. Some born to lead and some born to follow.

Not everyone who comes to Rock Hollow Woods appreciates nature and its power of healing, peace, and knowledge that it can bring, but I feel they sense it and maybe miss it when they leave. It has to be a little scary coming from an asphalt jungle into an actual jungle for some kids. They do it and they prevail. They walk away wanting more. That’s nature’s superpower.

I step away from Rock Hollow Woods a better person to have met SO many new stewards of the environment, big and small. Remember we all have a role to protect our children, ourselves, and in turn, our planet and our future.

Keep looking for those underrated moths, caterpillars, walking sticks, and fungi because all the little pieces add up to one big piece.

I’ll miss you all, but I hope to see you all again.

For the love of nature,
Adventure Amy
