Sacred Hearts School' Ohana,

Congratulations on our first week back to school. Thank you for your cooperation, patience, and understanding with our school's return to school safety guidelines and protocols. Together we can keep our school community safe throughout this school year. Please continue to remain in the school courtyard middle sidewalk if you plan to bring your student on campus and email your teacher directly with any questions or leave a message with the front office, and we will send it to your child's teacher. School is open at 7:20 am, and students who arrive after the 7:45 am tardy bell must go directly to the school office. A face mask or shield is required at all times at drop off and pick up.

Student safety is our number one priority, so please adhere to the drop-off, pick-up, and parking guidelines. Students are only to be dropped off and picked up in the designated area. Parents who do not comply with our guidelines will have to pick up their children from the school office after school. Guidelines are available in this newsletter.

Virtual Back to School Night has been postponed until Tuesday, August 17, 2021. I will have more information on what to expect in next Friday's school newsletter.

I reposted the 2019-2020 reopening video in the "Safety Guidelines & Protocols" section. Sacred Hearts School Faculty & Staff continue to remain committed to the safety and wellbeing of parents, students, and all of its school community. We were successful the previous year by following strict protocols and procedures to keep children safe, and we will continue to do so.

Check out the "Campus Beautification" section for the campus improvements for more outdoor learning space and added safety. Mahalo to the Martinez 'ohana, parents of Yaretzi (5th), Andres (4th), and Eli (ELC) for the much-needed bathroom renovations! Our Pastor, Fr. Kuriakose, will perform campus blessing of our classrooms, newly renovated space, and campus next Tuesday.

The August lunch & snack menu is at the end of this newsletter. Please email Ms. Cara, Front Office Assistant, if you have any questions.

Yearbooks are available for pick up from the school office. It is not too late to purchase the Sacred Hearts School & Early Learning Center Yearbook. Scroll down to the School Office Information section for updated order information.

The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Program begins in the Fall. View the virtual open house video and sign up. This program is available to students in the 5th - 12th grade. This program offers unique learning experiences and college scholarship opportunities.

Continue to keep our school 'ohana in your prayers for our safety and success.

Sincerely in Christ,

Mrs. Tonata Lolesio

This Sunday’s Readings

What should we do when we get stuck? Ordinary Time 19B (Catholic Kids Media)

"As you gather as a family, talk about our hope that one day we will share eternal life with God in heaven. This hope can transform the way we live our daily lives, calling us to be people of hope and expectation. In today’s Gospel, Jesus promises us this gift of eternal life in the Eucharist. Read together today’s Gospel, John 6:41-51. Observe that Jesus taught us that those who listen to God know that Jesus has been sent by God for the life of the world. Jesus fulfills this promise to us through his passion, death, and Resurrection. He gives us the gift of himself in the Eucharist, which is his Body and Blood, given so that we may have eternal life. Conclude in prayer together asking God to increase our faith in Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist. Pray together the Act of Faith."
