Things I found, things I am saving for winter

Hi there!

I found some treasures for you:

Chu's First Day of School by Neil Gaiman

Chu's First Day of School

You can bet I read a lot of "first day of school" books this week. This book spoke to me. It begins on the first day of school when a kind teacher asks her students to participate in an introduction game. Chu doesn't know what to say, so he chooses to stay quiet and listen to the other children take their turns. When Chu's time comes, everything turns out OK thanks to a silly accident. There is nothing clever or surprising about this story, but sometimes a successful book is just one that speaks to the reader.

In my opinion, you cannot always change your results by revising perpetually. You have to move on. You have to do something different than you did the first time.

Try new formats, new materials, new perspectives, take a class, find new reviewers. Then, if that fails, find another story.

Afterward, you can come back, having grown and matured as a creative, and try it again. But I wouldn't spend too much time back there.

Recently, I added prints to my shop, several copies of Kindness Tales, and phone wallpapers. If you enjoy this newsletter, please consider supporting me by visiting my shop, liking products, and leaving a review.
