From Our President

Pete Cantor

Another month has gone by and golfing is in full swing, time flies. It is a pleasure to serve as President of the Jerome Country Club when everything is running smoothly. The course is in perfect condition. The new practice facility at the driving range is schedule to open in June. Bart planted the green for the practice area last Spring and it is looking good. Our association is strong and the members seem happy.

Bart has all the equipment working well and organized a successful work day. Special thanks to those who painted, seeded, picked up pine cones and trimmed the plants. After the rain the course seemed to sparkle. All who participated in the work day ate Caddy Shack burgers and played a fun scramble.

One item on our future agenda is creating hole number 7 as our signature hole. The board would like members input on any changes that we might be making to hole 7.

The board election is coming up in May. Please look for your post card to cast your vote for the election. The two candidates elected will start their term in November.

Welcome new members:

Cindy Hammons and Randy Ellsworth
Lias Knecht and Ruby Holt
Kenny and Magan Clapp

Jerome Tigers High School Golf Update

The Jerome golf team is in full swing. With the District Tournament around the corner (May 6th at Preston), the teams are looking as tough as a 630-yard dog leg par 5. Vinny Di Lucca is leading the boys as a sophomore. The boys have a good chance to qualify for State. The girls team is led by Bayley Miller, a senior. The girls team is having a building year with most of the team being freshmen and sophomores. With being so close in most of the regular season tournaments, we are hoping to surprise some teams in districts.
