With 2019 in the home stretch, we look back at some of our recent highlights. We are very grateful for an amazing 2019 filled with exciting projects and activities. Thank you very much to each and every stakeholder for making this a truly memorable year.

The Ohlthaver & List Group of Companies celebrated their centenary during October. dB Audio Namibia supported O&L and Sindana Communications with a glamorous gala dinner on 16 October at the Windhoek Country Club, and exciting family fun days for employees in Windhoek, Oshakati and Swakopmund on 19 October.

We furthermore supported O&L and Sindana Communications with a 'Leveraging Genius' conference for the leadership teams of all O&L’s operating companies at the Strand Hotel in Swakopmund from 18 to 21 November, as well as the company’s annual 12 Seasons Awards at Windhoek’s Droombos on 29 November.

The City of Windhoek hosted their annual Jazz Festival on 02 November 2019 at the Independence Stadium. dB Audio Namibia took care of the event’s overall technical requirements and stage management.

We also supported Sindana Communications with a VIP deck for NBL’s invited guests.

dB Audio Namibia worked alongside Wendy’s Creations to ensure a befitting celebratory gala to mark Standard Bank Namibia’s listing on the Namibian Stock Exchange. The glamorous event was held at the Windhoek Country Club on 14 November 2019.

| Trustco Top 40 |​

The Trustco Top 40 employees for 2019/2020 were announced on 12 September during a glittering gala dinner at Droombos.  dB Audio Namibia supported Mammoth Events to bring their technical event design to life. ​

| Journalism Awards |​

dB Audio Namibia supported Jolene Nell Consultancy at a fundraising gala for the Editors Forum of Namibia on 3 October. Guest speaker, the award-winning Saudi Arabian investigative journalist, Safa Al Ahmed, who was a colleague to the murdered journalist Jamal Kashoggi, provided very relevant food for thought.​

| Bank of Namibia Symposium |​

The Bank of Namibia held their twentieth annual Symposium on 19 September at the Safari Hotel.  dB Audio Namibia provided all required technical event support which included a bespoke set and a live webcast of the morning’s proceedings.​​​

| Namibia Theatre & Film Awards 2019 |​

dB Audio Namibia partnered with the National Theatre and the Namibia Film Commission to stage the biannual NTFAs on 12 October 2019. In the run-up to the awards, we also supported the Film Commission with public screenings to showcase the nominated films to the public.​

| #LANDoftheBRAVEfilm Premiere |

This much anticipated Namibian feature film premiered at Ster Kinekor Grove Mall on 10 October 2019. dB Audio Namibia partnered with Collective Productions to provide technical support for the red carpet arrival and after party.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

| NTN Workshops |

Team dB learnt more about ‘Business & Arts’ and brushed up on our ‘Production Management’ skills by attending two workshops at the National Theatre of Namibia during November. The NTN partnered with South Africa’s State Theatre (SAST) and their Education Youth and Children Theatre Department (EYCT) to empower Namibian creatives.

| Secretaries Convention |

Our Front Office Administrator, Queen Kakero, spent 27 September at the NUST Secretaries’ Convention. It was presented under the theme ‘Empowering the Administrative Professional for the Fourth Industrial Revolution’.

| ICT Summit & Cyber Security |

Martin Nangolo, our Inhouse IT technician, attended the ICT Summit in October, and represented Team dB at a training session during November which aimed to educate businesses on their roles and responsibilities relating to cyber risks.

| Time Management |

In line with our ongoing efforts to improve our customer service, 7 of our Team Members attended a time management workshop on18 November. Hosted by PwC, this short course provided tools and awareness to help them effectively manage their time.
