WE NEED LITERACY LAWS IN NEW YORK STATE.  

ACCORDING TO NYSED 65% OF GENERAL EDUCATION STUDENTS CANNOT READ TO GRADE LEVEL.

WE NEED TO PROTECT TEACHERS FROM INEFFECTUAL TRAINING AND ENSURE THEY HAVE SCIENCE BASED APPROACHES TO EXPLICITLY TEACH READING.
