Saturday, January 25: 8:30 AM  "Spring" Cleaning in January   Calling all Southbridge residents and renters to help clean chairs, chaises, footstools and tables. (Many hands make light work, etc.) Bring any cleaning cloths, brushes, or gloves, if you have them. Cleaning solution will be provided; wear old clothes that can sustain a bleach spot or two. Have a cup of coffee, a doughnut, a chat with your neighbor, and leave with the knowledge that you have made your pool a better (cleaner!) place.

FAQ:  WHERE ARE the "COMMON AREAS" to WALK PETS?

Walk your pets on the grass by the ponds, along the roadside of Pelican Nest Drive, or in the mulched area of the cul-de-sac at the south end of Ballycastle Court. Do NOT allow your pets to relieve themselves in the grassy areas around the residences or pool. Clean up all solid waste.

How to Find Out What's Going On in Southbridge

Picture
  • The Southbridge News and Updates is distributed when the Board of Directors has information to share. The publication contract allows four newsletters a month, with no more than one per calendar week. More than one newsletter per week is considered spam and cannot be distributed without an appeal. If you have questions or information to share, email [email protected].
  • A Brochure Box for Flyers publicizing community events is located in the west alcove of the mailboxes. Take a flyer home with you!
  • Glass display cases with bulletin boards are in each mailbox alcove and at the pool. Read contact information for the Southbridge Board, announcements about board meetings, details of social events.
  • The Southbridge Website has pages with public documents to download, a link to the Southbridge Google calendar, suggested activities in the area with links to museums, etc.
  • Email blasts will be sent ONLY in case of emergencies - hurricane updates, etc. They will not be sent for social event reminders.

MISCELLANEOUS MEMOS:

  • Use your garage and your driveway for your vehicles. Do NOT park in the street. Avoid dings in your door and scrapes on your fenders. Residents are having difficulty getting in/out of their driveways because of cars parked in the roadway; delivery vehicles, contractors, landscaping, waste management and recycling trucks are having trouble getting through. Guests should use the street only if the guest parking areas are filled.
  • Remind your guests to park close to the curb, but not on the grass, if they need to park on the street.  The sprinkler system heads are in the grass along the road. Cars can damage the heads and affect the irrigation of grass and shrubs. Ask guests to re-position their cars if necessary.
  • Landscape workers are hired by Estate, not by Southbridge. The workers have specific jobs to do in a specific time frame, and are not allowed to respond to residents' requests. Do not put the workers in a difficult position. If you have landscaping work that you need to have done, contact Diane Winters, head of Landscape.
  • Garage doors should be closed unless residents are working in the interior, per PLCA regulations. Open garage doors are an  invitation to palm rats, snakes and roaches to take up residence.
  • The holiday season is over. PLCA required all decorations to be down by January 15.
  • Separate your recycling from your trash at the pool. Use the correct bin. If discarded items are mixed, the recycling has to go into the trash.
  • Review the pool and spa rules with your renters and guests.  You are responsible for their behavior, and for any fines incurred. Last year the health department collected $600 from Southbridge's violations of chairs being too close to the shower and the spa.
  • Spread the Southbridge news. Any resident, renter or interested person who has an email address is eligible to receive the Southbridge newsletter; many couples receive individual copies. Send a request to [email protected] to be added to the list. Although nonresidents may receive the newsletter, only residents have access to the private pages on the Website.
  • Check your listing in the residents' contact information on the Website. Bill Riley updates it regularly. You will need access to the private pages to read the contact information. You can request access by going to the Login/Register tab on the Website. You can update your information by emailing Bill at [email protected] .
