CHEER OUT OUR GRADUATES! CAR PARADE WEDS 6/9

There will be a short but sweet, slow-moving car parade for the 8th-grade graduates down Alpine Road - from Corte Madera to Alpine Hills Club - after graduation ends on Wednesday.  We should have about 50 decorated cars parading in the 6:00-6:15ish window on Wednesday, June 9th so don't be late! Coordinate with friends and family and line Alpine Road with your CMS blue and noisemakers. Let's cheer on our grads!

The ORM and CMS PTO would like to say CONGRATS ON A FABULOUS YEAR!  While totally unconventional (although we all might need to redefine that term, it might be “unconventional" is the new conventional:-)), we all took charge of the challenging situation and made it awesome. WE DID IT!

Last Monday Morning Meeting

Please join us for our final Monday Morning Meeting of the year on Monday, June 7 at 8:45 a.m.  The children have a few songs to sing for you and there will be a special performance as well. The Zoom link for this event will be shared closer to the actual date.

Ms. Denise Day

Monday, June 7 is “Miss Denise Day” in honor of our wonderful Office Manager’s impending retirement on June 30.  Please be sure to say your goodbyes and send lots of love her way. We will all miss her and wish her the very best in this new chapter. 

field Day

Thanks to physical education teacher, Kate Cox, our children will have a Field Day this year! Normally Mr. C plans a big Field Day for all of our students with parent volunteers and a lot of fun and games. Due to COVID restrictions we cannot have a large-scale event but Mrs. Cox has agreed to put together an event that will be attended by each grade level separately with the students participating in various activities within their class cohort. 

Field Day for Grades 2 and 3 will be on:  Monday, June 7

On Field Day children are encouraged to wear sports attire - a team uniform or jersey or hat or dress in their favorite professional team colors.

Please send your child to school with a water bottle on Field Day and slather them up with sunscreen.  Field Day is always one of the warmest days of the year at Ormondale!

Device Return

By now, all on campus students should have returned their devices. Portola Valley Virtual Academy students will return their devices to school on Wednesday, June 9 after 12:00 p.m. or at any time on Thursday, June 10 or Friday, June 11.

Ormondale Honors Spirit Celebration 

Bubbles, Chalk and Dance Party time at lunch on Tuesday, June 8.  TK/K will have their celebration at their recess time.

Last day of school - Wednesday, June 9. 

This will be an in-person school day with a minimum day dismissal for on-campus learners.  

• TK/K Dismissal - 11:30 a.m. (no change)

• Grade 1 Dismissal - 11:45 a.m.

• Grade 2 Dismissal - 11:55 a.m.

• Grade 3 Dismissal - after the 3rd Grade “Drive Out” 

The Sequoia High Transportation bus will be here at 12:05 to pick up our VTP students.

Last Day of School Details

Wednesday 6/9 is the last day of school and will be in person for students who have been  attending in person school. This will be a minimum day for all students.

Start/End times by grade follow:

4/5- 8:45-12:10pm (arrive at 8:30am)

6/7 grade- 9:00-12:15pm (arrive at 8:40am)

8th grade- 9:00-11:15am (arrive at 8:40am). Report back to CMS at 4:30 for graduation.

PVVA Students do not need to report to school on the last day. Their PV Academy teachers will still meet with them on a modified minimum day schedule.

Chromebooks/Textbooks/School Supply Return Schedule

8th grade return: Monday, June 7

4/5 return: Tuesday, June 8

6/7 return: Wednesday, June 9

PV Academy Return: Thursday, June 10:  9:00-10:00am in the front office

8th Grade Graduation: June 9th at 5pm

We will be having an outdoor graduation celebration for our 8th graders on the last day of school at 5pm. This graduation is only for the 8th graders, their immediate family, and staff. We can't wait to celebrate our graduates!
