There are 28 workshops in total, with seven running simultaneously across four sessions. There is a wide range of workshops for Boards of Trustees, Tumuaki, Management Teams and Kaiako from practical hands on sessions, to funding support, and financial literacy. Iwi members will have the opportunity to hear from Kura in our membership who will be sharing their unique kaupapa with attendees. Alwyn's workshop will share the successful strategies these middle schools have in place for Year 7-10 students including ideal student:teacher ratios, project based curriculum, effective classroom teaching and an innovative day structure. 11:10am: Session 1, Thu 1 August NKAI ERO Methodology A joint presentation that provides an overview of the methodology, indicators and best practice that guides the external evaluation of kura ā-iwi by the Education Review Office and Ngā Kura ā-Iwi o Aotearoa. 11:25am: Session 3, Fri 2 August Te Tikanga o te AroMihi E rua ngā wāhanga o tēnei papamahi. If we think about our best and worst money moments, we can easily see how they may have enhanced or diminished our wellbeing in some way. Newest Events to the Calendar Beyond The National Conference There are a series of PLD events planned for after the National Conference and for some, registrations are open now. Please note that Ngā Kura ā Iwi PLD events have a limited number of places and therefore registering as soon as you are able is the best way to secure your participation. Whakangungu Reo Māori 2 The second Reo Māori PLD session is scheduled for 26-27 August 2019 in Hopuhopu with Pānia Papa and Leon Blake. This wānanga is a repeat of the first session held in May earlier this year, therefore, this PLD opportunity is open to a new group of 50 kaiako. Important notes: Limited to 50 people may attend FREE (Travel and Teacher Release to be covered by Kura) Limited to FIVE places per Kura Accommodation is twin share at Hopuhopu All meals a provided on-site The expectation is that all attendees will attend for the full duration of the hui AND will come to the PLD hui having already logged in to TEAMS.
