Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Newsletter of the American Delegation of Savoy Orders. Each quarter the Newsletter will bring you Membership News, National and International News, and updates on the programs and collaborative efforts with our charitable arm, The American Foundation of Savoy Orders, Incorporated, whose endeavors include: participation at the United Nations as an NGO, Savoy History Series, Savoy Orders Pigott Scholarships Program, Chivalry Award and our two major gala events: The Ballo di Savoia in NYC and the Notte di Savoia in Los Angeles, as well as our new Savoy Orders Youth Program.

2019 Ballo di Savoia Winter Charity Gala

NEW YORK (NEW YORK) - The American Foundation of Savoy Orders (Savoy Foundation) hosted its 22nd annual winter charity gala, Ballo di Savoia (Savoy Ball) on Saturday, December 14, 2019 in New York City. Guests of honor, H.R.H. Prince Emmanuel Philibert of Savoy and H.R.H. Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia, together with over 300 patrons, sponsors and guests raised funds for the Charity’s mission– "Chivalry for Children’s Causes" – supporting the NY Foundling’s summer camp program for foster care youth.

NEW YORK (NEW YORK) - Thursday evening, December 12, 2019, The American Foundation of Savoy Orders launched the US Savoy Orders Youth Program at a joint reception with Young Friends of Save Venice in honor of HRH Prince Emmanuel  Philibert of Savoy, Prince of Venice, in solidarity with conservation efforts in Venice following the historic November floods. The event was by invitation only.  The Delegate Carl J. Morelli and Vice Delegate Joseph Sciame of the American Delegation of Savoy Orders,  Savoy Orders Youth Program Coordinators Joseph B. Giminaro, Anthony Schembri, Jr. with Elizabeth de Trindade-Asher of the Young Friends Steering Committee of Save Venice Inc. greeted over 150 guests.​

2019 CAPITOLO GENERALE - CHAPTER GENERAL OF THE DYNASTIC ORDERS OF THE ROYAL HOUSE OF SAVOY

NICE (FRANCE) - The 2019 Chapter General (Capitolo Generale) of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy, the annual international reunion and assembly of the members of the Savoy Orders from 35 international delegations, was held in Nice, France on the French Riviera, September 20 - September 23, 2019. A contingent of members of the American Delegation participated in the weekend's traditional ceremonies and charity events presided over by the Grand Master of the Dynastic Orders, HRH Prince Victor Emmanuel of Savoy.

On Saturday, August 24, 2019, members and friends of the American Delegation of Savoy Orders enjoyed a special social occasion, an outdoor picnic lunch, good company and the final annual Sergio Franchi Memorial Concert. The annual concert has been a staple of the cultural and musical life of New England organized by consoeur Dama Eva Franchi, in memory of her late husband. Event expenses for members of the Savoy Orders were graciously underwritten by Comm. George C. White and Dama Elizabeth White.

Morelli (far right), along with a dozen members American Delegation of Savoy Orders attended the Inaugural Gala Reale di Savoia Charity Event in Ottawa, Canada on June 14, 2019 which was organized by the Canadian Delegation of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy. FESTA della PRIMAVERA SPRING RECEPTION
New York City  June 11, 2019

NEW YORK (NEW YORK) - The American Foundation of Savoy Orders' annual Festa della Primavera (Spring Reception) was held in New York City at the Columbus Citizens Foundation townhouse on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.  During the event, the Savoy Foundation's Seventh Chivalry Award was presented to The New York Foundling in recognition of its 150th anniversary and dedication to children's welfare. This special evening also commemorated the 100th Anniversary of the complete unification of Italy with the addition of Trentino, South Tyrol and Trieste under the peace treaties of the First World War in 1919. The event benefited the Savoy Orders inaugural campaign Chivalry for Children's Causes. Mrs. Matilda Cuomo, the 2018 Chivalry Award honoree, presented the Award to Bill Baccaglini, CEO and President, on behalf of The New York Foundling.

The 2019 recipient of the Path to Peace Award was Church in Need, honored for its humanitarian and pastoral work in support of persecuted Christians around the world. His Excellency Archbishop Bernardito Auza, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations is the President of the Path to Peace Foundation.

NEW YORK (NEW YORK) - The American Delegation of Savoy Orders held its traditional annual St. Lazarus Mass, commemorating the patron saint of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy on March 15, 2019 at the Church of St. Jean Baptiste in New York City.  The Mass was followed by a convivial dinner at Orsay Restaurant where more than 60 members and guests enjoyed the festive evening.  Read More
