Summary

A round of POWDER finally landed in the Snowies. Reports coming in from 8-16" with the higher amounts being reported from the North/Northwest area of the range. Winds were ferocious Monday, so be extra careful of wind loading on the slopes. The winds have also made tucked away areas/tree riding more favorable for the deeper fresh snow...yet leaving the high plains (Libby flats and the O-NO intersection) pretty well scraped down to where they were at last week. Winds have been calm since yesterday (Tuesday) and temps have been cold enough to keep it from setting up yet. Come and get it while it's fluffy!

Rider Reports

1/08/2019 - Couldn't have asked for a better blue bird day! Fresh foot to two on the northern part of the area, no wind, and blue skies! Seems like most everything got a fresh hit, but the deeper accumulations weren't there until we got to the backside around the warming hut (Quealy). BRAAAPP!

1/05/2019 - There's still stuff to be had in the trees, but a new hit of snow would be ideal. Felt like Spring riding in all honesty...good base, marginal powder. Hopefully this system that is coming will get things back to a Mid-Winter feel.

12/30/2018 - Great visibility, which can be rare in the Snowies! There is still some powder (~1 foot) to be had in the way off trail areas and/or trees...but you have to search a bit. Great base for this time of year in my opinion, but I've only been coming for 3 years around this time each year. Last night (Saturday) I'd say there was a fresh 7" inches that fell overnight, so that was a nice surprise. Definitely could use a good dumping to freshen everything up, but still not bad for early in the season. See you next year!
