Head of the Schuylkill Regatta Important Information

  • Saturday - All rowers will practice on Saturday morning 8 - 10am, after practice boats will be loaded for the regatta. Loading will be completed at approximately 11:30am; all rowers are expected to stay to load boats. Rower Pasta Party has been cancelled for Saturday, Oct 27.
  • Sunday - Rowers need to be at the regatta at the rowers' tent 2 hours prior to their race. NOTE: The rowers' tent location will be announced on InstaTeam on Saturday night once we have been notified by Boris. Instructions for drop off will be included in the notification. If you have not signed up for InstaTeam please do so now (Ridgewood Crew Club #VGTQNP).
  • Weather - there is a Nor'easter predicted for the area this weekend. Unless we are notified that the regatta is cancelled due to weather, we are racing. Plan accordingly with dress, i.e, rain gear, layers, extra clothes. 
  • Parking - Kelly Drive will be closed for this regatta. Please consult the HOSR website for information regarding parking. http://hosr.org/traffic-flow-parking/ ​
  • Watching the regatta - You can watch the regatta at any point along the Schuylkill River. There are covered grand stands at the finish line just before the Columbia Ave Bridge. http://hosr.org/course-map/​  and  http://hosr.org/site-map/
  • Food - send a lunch or extra snack with your rower. There is no parent tent at this regatta, and therefore there will be no food provided for spectators or rowers. 
  • Results - regatta results will be posted on HereNow https://www.herenow.com/results/#/races and regatta central https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/entries/?job_id=5772&org_id=0
  • Post Race - rowers may leave after their race and their boats have been derigged and loaded on the trailer. Monday, Oct 29 all rowers are to be at PRRA at 4pm for unloading and boat winterization until approximately 5:30pm.

Novice Practice

Last Novice practice will be Saturday, Oct 27. The Novice session practice time has been changed to 11am - 1:30pm.
