Despite the current...everything...I'm so happy to announce a group show 2 years in the planning: Fragile Domestic, on Friday, October 2, at the Bunnell Street Arts Center in Homer, Alaska, featuring the work of 5 Alaskan women artists Sonya Kelliher-Combs, Keren Lowell, Hollis Mickey, Susan Joy Share and myself. This exhibition roams a literal and emotional landscape, exploring the female experience within domestic spaces and our relationship to materials, women’s work and expectation.

Artist Talk: October 2, 6 pm AKST/10 pm EST, streamed on Bunnell's FB or via Zoom registration.
Workshop: Personal Symbology in Stitch, presented by Amy Meissner and Hollis Mickey, Sunday, October 4, 1-3 pm AKST/5-7 pm EST (2-hour Zoom session/$25). This online workshop will focus on using personal symbols, repetition and mark-making in embroidery to explore symbology, meaning, metaphor and mysticism. Tarot reading included! Recommended materials include paper and pen, needle and thread, and a piece of cloth in an embroidery hoop for small scale experimenting. Workshop: Scene From Home, presented by Susan Joy Share, Sunday, October 11, 1-3 pm AKST/5-7PM EST (2 hour Zoom session / $25). Learn several simple paper pop-up mechanisms and create a vignette that highlights views in, around or from your home. Please have the following materials and tools on hand – scissors, glue stick, white glue, 8.5” x 11” paper (text and card weight). Optional materials include old drawings/paintings on paper, ephemera, photos, cereal box cartons, office envelopes, drawing/painting supply.
