Giving Tuesday is here!

Giving Tuesday kicks off the season of giving, so we hope you're feeling excited! We need your help to continue shifting the focus to nature-based solutions to more effectively enhance Texas karst country groundwaters, biodiversity, and long-term resilience.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN DOING

As part of our educational outreach, we've been providing presentations and information to groups across the eastern Hill Country about the benefits of working with mountain cedars (limestone junipers) and using nature-based solutions. It’s a tough sell, but landowners from diverse backgrounds are embracing the message. Following a recent hybrid presentation in Canyon Lake attended by almost 120 members, the event coordinator informed me, “I got so much positive feedback from your presentation, especially from the bigwigs!”

WHY THE OUTREACH IS IMPORTANT

The presentations and information teach landowners there’s a better way to manage karst country and hope for regenerating degraded lands-and it's giving them hope. Conducting these events in person is more effective since it more effectively builds connections and support. The stronger this community becomes the more we’ll be able to convince government agencies to prioritize funding for nature-based solutions.

CALL TO ACTION

We need to expand our educational outreach to the entire Hill Country, the western Edwards Plateau, and the Lampasas Cut Plains. And we need your help to do it.  Our goal is to provide 5 to 6 presentations per month. Each presentation costs us $250 to $600 depending on distance. Your donations will help sustain our efforts by covering materials, travel time, gas, and potential lodging.
