MEETING PLANNED

         We plan on holding our first meeting in a long time, Coronavirus permitting!                  We will meet on Thursday October 20th at 7:00 PM at our usual place:                                       Hill Country Hall in Buchanan Dam. 

Guest speakers will be Glenn Willis and Travis Warren, owners of “Weapons for Texans” and “OutridersTX”.  They will discuss self-protection for seniors, situational awareness, home invasion, and special training for church safety.  Special guest Curtis Roys will relate a personal experience of home invasion. 

PLEASE NOTE:  We will follow current CDC policy concerning wearing of masks and maintenance of separation.

"You Can't Win if You Don't Play"

Llano National Bank has once again generously donated a $500 Visa Gift Card to us which we are going to raffle off to help in our fundraising efforts.  Chances will sell for $5 each or 6 for $20.  Raffle tickets can be purchased at our meeting on October 20th, or contact any of the LBCC board members.  The drawing will be held at our annual member Christmas Mixer which will be held this coming December 5th.  Winner need not be present to win.  (LBCC Members---watch for your personal invitation for details of the Mixer.)  

As you probably know by now, our scheduled Golf Tournament had to be cancelled because of the pandemic.  This loss ,along with cancelling our other big fundraiser, the Fish Fry, has put a big hole in our fundraising this year.  Please help us out and buy a few Visa raffle tickets.  Winning the $500 Visa Card would be a great Christmas gift to yourself or give you a good start in filling someone's Christmas wish list.  Think about it.

Speaking of fundraising, at least we were able to complete our annual gun raffle. We are pleased to report we set a new record for ticket sales.  We want to thank all of you who took a chance or two to help us out.  And we want to congratulate our three winners, pictured below:

We like to do things that call attention to Lake Buchanan and entice people to use it.  One of those things is to support our youth, as evidenced by the high school scholarships we award each year.  Another is depicted here.  

LBCC President, Ron Abshier, presenting a $500 donation to Faith Angler Network (FAN) founder, Jeff Cook, at their Bass tournament on Lake Buchanan September 12.  FAN is a faith based group of junior and senior high school kids based in Leander but involving a wide range of schools. They’ll be back to Buchanan before the end of the year to do their annual “championship fish-off”.
The LBCC has supported them for several years and looks forward to their next visit!
