Regatta Volunteers Needed !! **** ATTENTION PARENTS **** Have you ever wondered how timing and info gets compiled and posted during a regatta? Now is your chance to find out! In order to keep our very valued Gillan Lot privileges at the Stotesbury regatta.... which keeps our rowers from having to wait in very long lines to launch.. .. we have signed up to provide 4 volunteers to work in the finish line tower on Saturday. There are 2 five hour shifts: 2 volunteers needed for 7:30 - 12:30 2 volunteers needed for 12:30 - 6:00. Shifts can be split into 2.5 hours each If you have not volunteered this year, and are at the regatta, you will be chosen to cover the shift if we do not have enough volunteers to cover all hours on Saturday before the event. Dear parents, We are still looking for some food donations for this weekend's regatta. If you have not yet contributed for a regatta this season, please consider helping us out! We will be serving lunch both Saturday and Sunday. Since we have a later departure on Saturday morning we WILL NOT be providing bagels or breakfast , so please make sure your rower eats prior to leaving or pack them something for the ride. Rowers will be on their own for breakfast on Sunday as well, so please prepare accordingly. Due to the logistics of a two day regatta and cooler space, we will not be providing sandwiches for the bus ride home Sunday as we normally do, but will have some snacks the rowers can grab. If you know your rower will need more food, please have them pack something for the ride home. Finally, please remind your rowers to bring their own refillable water bottle and to clean up after themselves as they eat throughout the day. ALL LIGHTWEIGHT ROWERS !!! **** ALL ATHLETES MUST HAVE AN ID **** - WEIGH-IN TIMES – 5/5/18 and 5/6/18 – There will be one weigh-in time only for lightweight events that have more than six entries and that is Saturday, May 5, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at both Vesper Boathouse and on the porch of Gillin (St. Joseph’s) Boathouse. For lightweight events that have a direct final on Sunday, rowers have two choices: 1)weigh in on Saturday with the other lightweights or 2) weigh-in at Gillin from 8 to 9 am on Sunday . The same rules apply as in the Flicks. Bring your lineup with you and all kids need to show ID. ****Those rowers who weigh in on Saturday and move on to Sunday, must retain their bracelets for Sunday’s semifinals or finals**** REGATTA BUS TIME - 5/5/18 and 5/6/18 Regatta bus will be leaving Graydon at 8 am Please arrive by 7:45 am Racing starts at noon. As previously communicated, there will NOTbe a bus home Saturday night. Those boats rowing in finals will need to report back to the RC rowers tent Sunday at least 2 hours before their race. Due to the success our team is having (GO Wood!!), it's a possibility most boats will be progressing to Finals on Sunday. Boris would like all rowers to stay and cheer their team mates on!
