ISLAND TEENS ADVOCACY TEAM ITAT NEWSLETTER December 2020 "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'what are you doing for others?'" The Season for Service Our Island Teen Advocates shared the spirit of service this month with their families, friends, and Pacific Islander community. Some of our ITAT students completed a service project making candy leis . The Skyridge presidency members met to make the leis and have a meeting about their club goals for the year. The Skyridge ITAT club gifted the leis they made to their school administration. ITAT students from Provo High School also shared in the spirit of service, sharing their talents with their school by singing Christmas carols. "ITAT students went caroling to some of the Polynesian teachers who have helped them. We taught our class Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian Christmas song) and Manuia le Kerisimasi (Samoan Christmas song) then took some chocolate, cocoa rice (popular Samoan treat), and bread for the people we would sing to. We sang to Mr. Pope, who is always encouraging and a real motivator for many. We also sang to Mrs. Latu, who is a Special Education teacher, and a positive influence for many as well. Our last stop was the main office, where we sang to the administration because they do so much for us. It was a fun morning doing our little service project. It was a great experience watching our youth put smiles on everyone's faces as they sang, they had fun spreading cheer." -Flo Toleafoa, Provo ITAT Advisor Skyridge presidency at their service project meeting Provo ITAT club sharing the Christmas spirit ITAT Student Spotlight: Ezekiel Greco Ezekiel Bay Ah You Greco has been welcomed in as the newest member of the Skyridge High School ITAT Presidency.
