Pathways Rhythms January 2023 A Blessing for the New Year Here at this beginning, be there delight or be there grief may grace come to greet you and keep you company in the way you go. -Jan Richardson Candlemas Service Online Thursday February 2; 7pm EST The celebration of Candlemas on the 40th day of the Christmas/Epiphany season originated in the late fifth century as a day of light and hope. It is a day to bless the candles to be used for the upcoming year. On Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, 7pm, you are invited to an online service of light and blessing as the candles to be used this year at Pathways Retreat will be blessed. Gather your own candles in your home or work for an online blessing as well. Ash Wednesday Service Online Wednesday, February 22; noon-12:30pm EST Mark your calendars for Pathways' annual Ash Wednesday service! You will find more details in next month's newsletter Broken and New Hearts: A Lenten Journey What is broken in life often cannot be repaired. It’s about finding new ways to bring together the broken pieces to create a stronger story. In these times of deconstruction and unknowing, there are opportunities to take those pieces and begin creating something new, even if we don’t yet know what that’s going to be. Using nature and our personal narratives as inspiration, join this weekly Lenten journey and explore where you may have an emerging sense of belonging and of offering yourself and your gifts to God’s beloved world. Led by the Rev. Dawn Stegelmann, each gathering will include a time of teaching, reflection and spiritual exercise prompts.
