The blocks are a hit.

Things That Go Boom!

The 4th of July has always been a favorite holiday around The Quilt Branch, partially because it comes right after my birthday but more so because our town holds a huge festival with wonderful fireworks. With that comes many excuses to make a new patriotic table runner, placemat, wall hanging... This issue showcases a few of those designs as well as testimonial from the little guy above on the new Six Halves Make a Whole Nursery book.

Happy Quilting,

Patriotic Patterns

Holidays are a great time for a new project. Many of us have guests over for special meals, renew our decorating drive or need a special hostess gift.

The second is true for me this 4th of July. This piece is on my table at the moment; it is from the Table Topper Series Book 2. I rotate it and the wall hanging in the kitchen out each season.

You may be ready to start working on a new pumpkin project so it is ready ahead of time. Find more seasonal patterns online here

Tumbling Blocks

If you follow our Facebook page, you likely saw the above gif already. A family friend came over with her one-year-old son. He LOVED the blocks from the Six Halves Make a Whole Nursery book. If this was not a 'kid-tested, mother-approved' moment, I don't know what is!

My samples from the book are all made with fabric from Me and My Sister Designs. They recently shared a great blog post with pictures of each.

Have you made any blocks or quilts from the book yet? I would love to see your creations and fabric combinations. Please post a picture to our Facebook page or send me an email.
