Things I found, things I am saving for winter

Cory's Pinecone Mound

Hi Fam! Here are some treasures I gathered this week:

Gravity

Gravity is interesting for a couple of reasons:

1. It is an extremely short and focused Non-Fiction Picture Book. And it is not lyrical is any way.

2. It is powerful and impactful primarily through illustration.

If you are an illustrator who wants to write her own books, take note of this example.

  • This week was a slow reading week, but I did find a good example of alliteration used for humor. Never Tickle A Tiger is full of alliteration, in fact it drives the story. It is also a poor example of other things. The opening lines suggest a moral, or lesson, that is not carried through to the end. In fact, it is implied that the main character has not actually learned the lesson at all.

"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf

If you are yearning to create then create. I promise you that the manifestation of your creativity will reflect the divine from within yourself.
