"Snails Are Just My Speed! came out in the spring and it's been a busy year for me. At schools, I’ve been racing worms since the publication of We Dig Worms! in 2015. My librarian wife Patt asked me to make a book about worms for her story hour. I managed to share my enthusiasm for worms with children through funny drawings and simple words. | |
Often, kids are excited about very particular animals, narwhals, sharks, cheetahs. These are all amazing animals that children are not likely to see in person. My mission is to remind children they live in the natural world. So I focus on common animals we sometimes take for granted. Worms, pigeons, goldfish, and snails are just as amazing as exotic animals if you take time to learn about them." —Kevin McCloskey | |
