Tom's Pantry

Tom's Pantry for the week of september 7th 2020.

Baking and delivering this week!

Hello Folks.

I will bake this Wednesday September 9th for pick up at my home on Wednesday evening. Consult the schedule at http://www.tomspantry.ca/.

I will attend the Parkdale Farmers Market in Ottawa this Thursday September 10th from 9am to about 2.30pm, or until I sell out. The market is now open for pre-orders and for public browsing.

I will deliver to homes on my trip on Thursday to Ottawa. I will deliver in the early morning in Crysler, Limoges, and the east part of Ottawa while going into town. At the end of the day, I will deliver in Ottawa and points on my way home: Metcalfe, Russell, Embrun, Winchester, Inkerman, Chesterville.

I need your order please by Tuesday evening 8pm in order to prepare enough levain overnight. See the product descriptions and ordering considerations here. And then, view the price list and order online with Local Line

Next week, Saturday September 19th, I will be at the Vankleek Hill Farmers Market and I will perform home deliveries on that route and towards Cornwall.

There is a minimum order of two loaves for a home delivery on a scheduled route.

Take advantage of my organic flours and baking ingredients, also available in the virtual store.

A chocolate explosion

I continue expanding my offering of pastries and deserts.

NEW! Organic flourless chocolate mini-cakes (therefore, non-gluten). They are almost like brownies, with organic ingredients of bittersweet chocolate, butter, eggs, cocoa powder, raw cane sugar, and taste of vanilla and coffee.

Hanna Hamsa writes: "You have a winner in your chocolate gift.  Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I will tell everyone in Vankleek Hill about your amazing chocolate taste treat.

Order them for your next purchase - 4 for $9.

Upper Canada Creamery located in South Dundas celebrated their 5th anniversary on Aug. 15 of this year. Owned and operated by Ellen and Josh Biemond, UCC produces a variety of organic dairy products including milk, yogourt, ice cream and cheese from the milk produced by their 45 dairy cows. You can find their products in several retail locations in eastern Ontario. I use their organic yogourt in my Keto bread, and at home for personal use of course.

Another record bread day

The Vankleek Hill Farmers market saw a record turnout of customers and vendors this Saturday Sept 5th of the long weekend. I had never seen it before. I had three people lined up at my table to buy bread. It was non-stop for 2 hours with no break to sit down and catch my breath. I had made 61 loaves on Friday, plus my Thursday production of non-gluten bread, tarts, and mini cakes. I sold out again and could have sold more.

Congrats to Jeannine and Market President Aartje den Boer and Market Coordinator Jeannine Bastien for their hard work.
