Viajando En Espanol was Excellente!

The annual Viajando en Espanol celebration at Ormondale on Friday March 15th was a huge success thanks to all the teachers and parent volunteers that came to help. The hallways were filled with laughter, cultural music and the delicious smell of hispanic foods.

The Viajando Team comprised of over 70 volunteers helped by purchasing supplies or helping teach a craft, game or cook a food in each classroom. A special thanks to the Viajando grade leaders - Sra Covotta, Anne Fazioli-Khiari, Eva Diez, Rosa Salgado and Daphne Melendez. The concert by Rockalingua and dance with Sangini Bedner were the perfect way to end the day keeping the kids singing Spanish tunes all day long.

CHECK THE LOST AND FOUND THIS WEEK

Just a note to check the lost and found for any missing items. Anything left will be cleared out during Spring break. Thank you!

CMS TRACK AND FIELD REGISTRATION OPEN

Corte Madera Track & Field is open to all 4th-8th grade boys and girls.

Track will take place on Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:30 at M-A High School (with a few dates at Hillview).  Track will run from April 18h to May 22nd.  Athletes will have an opportunity to participate in sprints, distance, hurdles, discus, shot  put, high jump and long jump. The program is run in conjunction with Hillview, La Entrada, Woodside, and Oak Knoll.  This allows us to pool our resources and offer such a wide variety of events each practice and meet.

The program is very low key, and focuses on having fun while trying to achieve personal bests in the events they choose to participate in.  We do not hand out medals or ribbons after competition, but we do keep records of times, distances and heights, and share those out so athletes can monitor their personal best results.

Register online at http://www.pvpto.com/track.html

Contact Kate Cox at [email protected] if you have any questions.

The After School Art Club meets on Wednesdays from 1:50-2:50pm.  “Explore line, shape, color and more in this after school art class for children. We will continue to learn about different artists in this class, and will do a class wide temporary mural towards the end of the session!”

Drawing for Kids Wednesdays from 3-4pm   This is a great class that is directly after the After School Art Club. A great choice for parents who need more time, or children who want more art! Easy going class where children can learn how to draw different things using pencil, markers, and colored pencils and charcoal.

mountain camp

Making the world a better place by positively impacting campers and staff though the camp experience.

For the past four years, Mountain Camp Woodside has partnered with the Stanford University Graduate School of Education and Challenge Success to study how participation in our summer camp provides children with opportunities to develop critical 21st century learning skills. The results have been overwhelmingly positive and confirm what we have always believed - camp provides outstanding opportunities for kids to practice empathy, creative problem solving, personal responsibility, self-control, perseverance, teamwork and communication.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to watch this VIDEO to learn more about why camp is such a powerful experience for children.

Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions about this research and the impact that it has had on our camp program.  Thank you.
