Dear Romantics, Hello from Lakewood Ranch, Florida. First things first - thanks to those who have emailed, texted, and messaged about the approaching storm. We appreciate your concern. It's a cloudy and breezy Tuesday morning as I write this, and Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in thirty-six hours. Here's the latest update of Milton's path. Lakewood Ranch is somewhere under the big red 3. Like most of our neighbors, we're riding this one out. Floridians are well familiar with the expression, "hide from wind, run from water." Our home is built to withstand hurricane-strength winds, and we're not in a flood zone. It's likely we'll lose power, as will many in the area, but that's something we can deal with. It's gratifying to live in a community where people take care of one another. Below is a photo of Paul putting up the last of our storm shutters. What you don't see are the neighbors who helped put up the rest. Groups of residents, Paul included, help others prepare their homes. Hanging shutters for those not able to, removing lawn ornaments, and just generally looking out for one another. It truly takes a village. Cozy Christmas Kit Update Just a quick update for those of you who have asked. My Cozy Christmas Kit will be available exclusively to email subscribers until October 15. After the fifteenth, it will be announced to everyone. If you want to make sure you get yours, follow this link . I appreciate the positive feedback we've received so far. It really is a beautiful gift idea! Join us in praying for those who have been impacted by tropical storms and hurricanes this season, and for those in the path of Hurricane Milton. Our newsletter returns next week! Love, Robin |
