upcoming cultural assembly
Extreme Energy Assembly
Thanks to the support of the PV-PTO, this Thursday, we’ll light up Ormondale with the most exciting science show they’ll ever see! From potential energy to (controlled) explosions, from thermal cameras to people-power, explore where energy comes from, and where it ends up. How do we generate the energy we use every day and how do the choices we make affect our environment? This is one of the most exciting and hands on science based assembly programs touring the country today. Our students will be able to see energy as it feeds giant light bulbs, feel energy through static charges, and create energy themselves through hand cranks and running —not to mention explore energy at the molecular level inside a giant, life-sized snow globe!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED TO PASS MEASURE Z FOR OUR KIDS!
This November, we have the opportunity to vote YES on Measure Z to upgrade and renovate PVSD schools — all funds will stay in our community & there will be a citizens’ oversight committee once the Measure passes. As you may know, some of our classrooms and school facilities, 30 to 60 years ago, need extensive repairs and updates. These immediate needs are straining school budgets.
The committee to pass Measure Z is a grassroots organization of parents, teachers and community members who care about our kids’ education. There are several ways to get involved, but this week we are focused on recruiting volunteers for the phone banks to call local voters. This is, simply put, about ensuring that our kids can learn in safe, up-to-date buildings and facilities.
Please, don’t be afraid of the term “phone bank”—we are NOT selling anything or trying to convince those opposed to the Measure. You will be mostly calling folks to determine if they are voting for or against the measure, or those who are undecided, and you will be trained and have a script, as well as a team leader to answer any tough questions.
This is a small time commitment, the days and times are flexible, so please sign up for a time slot (or two!) and invite some friends to make it a party! The more voices we have in this grassroots campaign, the better.
SIGN UP HERE
There are other ways to support Measure Z. To learn more or get involved: go to www.YESonZforPVSD.com or contact Anne Fazioli-Khiari at [email protected].
