REGATTA INFORMATION:

CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS - May 6th and 7th

Weather:  Saturday: Clouds with a shower. Hi 64/lo 49.  Sunday a PM shower in places Hi 60/lo 43.  Parents please pack boots as the tent area and hill gets very muddy!

The boat lineups and full itinerary are listed at the bottom of this email. Important things to note:

  • Rowers need to be at the bus at GRAYDON by 8:15am for a 8:30 am SHARP departure Saturday morning. Please have rowers pack a bag for the hotel and one for the river.  Their overnight bags will not be coming to the river.  
  • Please send a check made payable to Ridgewood Crew or cash in the amount of $75 with your rower to cover the cost of the hotel room, Philadelphia taxes on the room and for dinner on Saturday night.  Ann and Katie will collect on Saturday before the bus departs.  
  • Please have rowers eat a healthy breakfast before arrival.  Lunch will be served at the river after 11am on Saturday.  The rowers will have dinner back at the hotel.  Nutritional flyer from US Rowing attached. Proper eating is important at all regattas especially ones that are 2 days. Please talk to your rower about this and try to limit the extra snacks and sweets that they bring to their hotel rooms.
  • Rowers are reminded to dress for the weather, warm jackets, bring sunscreen, extra socks, plastic bags for wet clothes and a refillable water bottle to every regatta.

  • Parent tent location: http://www.phillyflicks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Satellite-View-of-Grandstands-to-Boat-House-Starting-Line.pdf.  This is the location of the Team tent.  The rower tent is located at a different location.  For families new to the program, the coach’s request that parents refrain from contacting their children at the rower tent.  For the first few regattas they will all have plenty of time to meet you at the parent tent!

  • Parents, siblings, friends are encouraged to come down to our Team Tent in Philly to cheer on the team and enjoy the food.  This week we will have: scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, granola - for breakfast on Sunday; sausage and peppers with penne on Saturday for lunch; quesadillas and salads - for lunch on Sunday; and hot chocolate, tea, and coffee all day, both days! 
  • IMPORTANT ROWER PICK UP INFORMATION:  The rowers will leave Philly and go directly to PRAA on Sunday to unload the boats. Please arrange for your rower to be picked up at PRAA at approximately 8:30pm.  Please try to coordinate carpools if possible and keep in touch with your rower about timing.
