Dear Members & Friends of the Rec: The summer has come to a close, the island roads have quieted a bit, and the Rec is active as ever! With programming for younger folks, older folks, and everyone in between, the Rec is looking forward to spending these cooler, calmer fall days with our Chebeague community. Make a unique coffee mug and holiday ornament. Cost: $50 members, $75 non-members. Register below, limit to 4 people. Crafternoon Series $50.00 Buy Now October 13th, 7-9pm: TEEN NIGHT Free time for teens in the teen room and gym. Come solo or bring a friend! October 13th, 7-9pm: CRIBBAGE NIGHT Join us for a night of friendly cribbage competition. Bring a board & a dessert. FREE, no registration required. October 17th, 1-2pm: DESSERT & DISCUSSION with Jerry Wiles The Cuban Missile crisis gripped the nation in late October 1962. Join Jerry in a discussion of what happened and how it relates to current news. October 21st, 6-8pm: FALL HARVEST CELEBRATION, a Vegetarian Potluck Join us at the Island Hall to celebrate the season! Bring your favorite entree, side dish, or dessert to share. Dairy and eggs are okay; please no chicken, fish or meat. We ask that you bring a recipe card that lists the ingredients. BYOB. We’ll play a Halloween/Fall-themed game. Attend in costume to be entered into a raffle for a prize! FREE, no registration required. October 27th, 7-9pm: FAMILY NIGHT, an Island Treasure Hunt A fun, family event that is sure to be spooktacular! Meet at the CRC at 6:30. There will be 4 teams, and each team will need an adult driver. Each team will receive their first clue at the Rec...which will lead to a total of 4 clues. First team back to the Rec gets ice cream! Pick your favorite pumpkin from our mini pumpkin patch. Bring your carving tools; paint and crafts available. We'll have Spooky Tunes & Halloween Snacks, too! $10 per pumpkin, register below.
