Care Home Conference Spotlight

Picture

See last week's newsletter for our spotlight on conference co-founders Alyssa Elting McGuire and Adriana Gavozdea.

As a continuation of spotlighting the upcoming Care Home Conference on November 14th, this week we put the spotlight on Kim Decker, Owner of Your Senior Care Solutions. Kim will present at the conference on the topic of marketing your care home.

What do you do, in a nutshell?
I offer referral support and graphic design that is specific to adult care homes. I work closely with providers, getting to know them so I can develop a referral marketing plan and professional brochures and business cards. I love getting to know new providers and establishing a personal connection by visiting the home, getting to know providers and caregivers. I also design websites for care homes.

What is your why? Why do you do what you do?
There are so many wonderful care home providers who are great caregivers, but many providers can use business and referral support. I like to see businesses thrive and enjoy being a part of that process.

What are you most looking forward to about the conference?
I love connecting with past care home owner clients and meeting new care home owners. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge, expertise, and experience with care homes so they can always present themselves as a professional business owner.

What is your favorite quote?

Tip of the Week - MARs

Picture

Keeping the Medication Administration Records (MARs) organized is critical to both a resident's well-being and quality of life, and to your ongoing compliance. It requires consistent and detailed attention.

As you may know, medication errors are the top violations in care homes. Make sure you devote sufficient time to keep your records organized, and make sure all staff are trained on how to properly administer and document medication. Devoting adequate time to your organizational system is a must.
