Lent is a time of preparing ourselves for Easter. Often it involves reflection on our lives, repentance, prayer, almsgiving, fasting, and studying Scripture. The Lament and Penitential Psalms are helpful in this preparation season. In the New Testament time, Jews sang the psalms and knew them quite well and Jesus quotes or alludes to many of them.
Each Sunday we will focus on two psalms (e.g. Psalm 3 and 51) hearing reflections from two different individuals. The class will also have the opportunity to read, perhaps sing a version of the psalm, and share their own thoughts on the particular psalm.
