| Solo Show Installation, Earthquakes, Alaska |
Specifically, hello from Juneau, where I'm currently installing "Inheritance: makers. memory. myth" at the beautiful Alaska State Museum. This photo was taken around 4 pm the other afternoon and gives you a sense of the darkness we Alaskans face head-on this time of year -- especially with very little snow. Also, you probably know Anchorage experienced a 7.0 earthquake last Friday, so now we all have earthquake stories -- I had a driving-and-about-to-run-out-of-fuel experience. If I'd been home, it would've been a loud-crashing-broken-glass-my-house-is-about-to-collapse experience. Thank you to everyone who reached out from all across the world to find out if we were hurt, it meant so much. I'm happy to report very little damage...it could have been much worse. Coming up on a week later, the Anchorage area is still experiencing aftershocks; we're a hearty bunch, but are seriously over it and sick of being awakened at 3:30 am wondering what's next. I'm happy to be hanging out in Juneau. | |
