Friday Reflections

Hungry for More.

Grateful for Now.

This week, I had to come to terms with something about myself:

I am not someone who will ever feel completely satisfied.

Fulfilled? Yes. Every day, I can see and feel the blessings of my life.

I experience joy in the quiet mornings, peace in the way my home holds me, and contentment in the ordinary routines that remind me of the goodness I already have.

I don’t take that for granted. Ever.

And yet, beneath it all, there’s a hunger that never quite quits.

A soft whisper inside of me saying "there is more."

More to learn.
More to love.
More to discover.
More to feel.

It isn’t that my life is lacking. It’s that my spirit seems to thrive on expansion.

For a long time, I wrestled with that, wondering if it meant I was doing something wrong.

Was I failing at contentment?

Was I destined to always feel restless, never able to settle?

But here’s the shift I’m making:

maybe it’s not restlessness. Maybe it’s growth.

Maybe I’m not perpetually failing. Maybe I’m perpetually becoming.

When I think about it that way, I realize this hunger for “more” isn’t a void, it’s a compass.

It keeps pointing me toward new experiences, new lessons, new adventures that stretch me in ways I never could have imagined.

And every time I drink deeply from life, I know it’s only a matter of time before I’m thirsty again. Ready to taste the next chapter, the next piece of beauty I haven’t yet encountered.

I may never feel fully “settled,” but maybe that’s not the point (at least for me.)

Maybe the point is to live wide open.

To embrace the paradox of being both deeply content and deeply hungry at the same time.

To allow joy and longing to exist together, not as contradictions, but as partners.

So, this week, I’m choosing to honor my hunger instead of questioning it.

Because maybe the truth isn’t that I am unsatisfied.

Maybe the truth is that I am alive.

Sarah

LIFTED BY LOVE - FUNDRAISER

DONATIONS OF ITEMS DUE BY AUGUST 30TH!

Lifted by Love is a heartfelt initiative started by my daughter, created to bring comfort and joy to children living in Rhode Island shelters. We are currently collecting books, blankets, and stuffed animals. All items that offer both warmth and a sense of security and will be packaged together in an adorable bag and called a "kindness kit."

Our first connection is with a local shelter currently housing nine children with a newborn on the way.

This is just the beginning.

Those who are local may drop off items at Mastery Martial Arts in East Greenwich or contact me for pick up!

And stay tuned!!

We are just getting started and are excited to share how Lifted by Love will grow and reach even more children.
