Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. After worship, join us for a walk to SJSU’s Victory Salute statue, followed by a picnic and discussion. Disaster Response and Recovery As wildfires continue to devastate communities in Southern California, thousands of families are left without homes, belongings or even basic necessities. Entire neighborhoods have been reduced to ashes. UMCOR is meeting urgent needs through support of the California-Pacific Annual Conference’s immediate relief efforts. Initially, we’ve provided emergency relief funding for food, water and essential supplies for evacuees and to bolster local volunteer efforts. And we’ll continue to offer support through long-term recovery. Click the button below to give now. [email protected] Book Group Everyone Welcome St. Paul’s Book Group is meeting Saturday, January 18th at 10:30 am at the Stevens House to discuss ‘The Nickel Boys’ by Colson Whitehead. Everyone is invited to join us in reading and discussing this book. It is based on the real story of a reform school that operated for a century and warped the lives of thousands. ‘The Nickel Boys’ dramatizes another strand of American history through the story of two boys unjustly sentenced.
